Defender WB is formulated to provide premium protection to construction materials, engineered concrete, masonry surfaces, cement & clay products and sandstone. It employs high performance impregnators to create a powerfully repellent substrate, protecting against water-borne contaminants.

Application areas and surface suitability

Defender WB is a water based penetrating sealer for concrete and masonry.

Formulated to provide premium protection to medium to high porosity construction stone, clay, concrete & cement products, including:

  • Engineered, structural & precast concrete
  • Sandstone & Bluestone
  • Cement & Clay pavers
  • Terracotta, Saltillo, Quarry
  • Mortar, grout and masonry

Expected Wear:
Defender WB will provide premium protection for up to 5 years. However application methods, weather conditions, traffic, harsh cleaning methods and stone type will affect wear. Avoid use of solvents, strong acids and strong alkalis for extended sealer life.
Cleaning with Actichem Proneutro is advised.
It is recommended that the sealer be re-applied every 3 years where harsh conditions exist.

How to use

Read and understand the SDS before use.
Always pre-test in an inconspicuous location for substrate sensitivity to chemicals.

Preparation:
New installations must be fully cured before application of Intense (Min 48 hours) Some concrete installations may take up to 7 days to cure. Confirm with the structural engineer). Existing stone, tile and grout must be totally clean, dry and chemical free.

Coverage:
Coverage can vary dramatically depending on the degree of porosity, but is normally 5 to 15 m2 / Lt per coat for open structure, highly porous substrates and 20 to 30 m2 / Lt per coat for dense, less porous substrates. The coverage for the 2nd and 3rd coats is dramatically greater.

Application
  1. Apply 1 to 3 coats of Defender WB by generously saturating the surface using a polish applicator, roller or sprayer.
  2. Using a squeegee or/and absorbent towelling or applicator, wipe off any excess sealer remaining on the surface after 10 minutes of application. Do not allow surface to dry during this time.
  3. Allow 20 minutes in between coats. Apply subsequent coat whilst previous coat is still wet.
  4. Keep traffic off for 6 hours. Keep dry for 24 hours. Achieves a full cure in 24-48 hours.
