Coverage

NeverStrip Wood & Cork Seal has a broad coverage range depending on the surface its: texture, absorption and the Sealer’s application method.
On a rough/highly porous absorbent floor, the coverage using 9” or 18”, ⅜” nap microfiber roller cover with a dip and roll application method is typically 125 to 150 sq. feet per quart per
application. Two applications are common with this application technique.
With a smooth/less absorbent floor, the coverage of the microfiber pad method with a flat microfiber pad can expect to be closer to 750 to 1,250 sq. feet per quart per application. Two applications are typical.

Surface Preparation

Remove any floor finish/polish
Protect adjoining surfaces with tape or plastic Clean surface with NeverStrip Micron Clean and Conditioning Pad or equivalent
Floor should be dry for application

Application

Turn over the bottle a few times prior to use. (single component, no mixing, no pot life).

Dip and Roll Application Method

1. Microfiber Roller Covers is used for rougher or more absorbent flooring. The Dip and Roll Method of application using two roller covers is recommended if a microfiber flat pad cannot glide across the floor due to the roughness of the floor and the pad “catching” on the floor. The first step is to use a roller cover (saturated with product) to apply and spread the sealer.
2. A second “dry” roller cover is then used to immediately even-out the sealer in the section. A 9” roller cover generally will be used on a 4 foot by 4 foot section per “saturated dip” of the roller cover in an applicator tub/tray. An 18” roller cover generally will do a 4 foot by 8 foot per saturated dip of the roller cover.
3. The spread rate of the Dip and Roll Method can range significantly depending on the floor’s roughness and absorption. The use of clean booties is highly recommended.
4. Keep traffic off of the floor for at least 60 minutes after the second application using the Dip and Roll Application Method.

Caution

DO NOT OVERAPPLY OR OVERWORK THE SEALER WITH THE MICROFIBER PAD APPLICATION METHOD
DO NOT USE CITRUS CLEANERS OR CLEANERS CONTAINING D-LIMONENE TO CLEAN THE SEALER
DO NOT APPLY THE SEALER OUTSIDE THE RANGE OF 60° AND 90° F

Generally, Dip and Roll Method coverage will be 125 to 150 square feet per quart per application or 500 to 600 sq. feet per gallon per application.
Allow the first application to dry for 30 minutes before applying the second application.

Microfiber Pad Application Method

Smoother and/or less absorbent wood flooring may use a Microfiber Pad Application Method. If a microfiber pad “glides” across a floor without catching then this method can generally be used. The Microfiber Pad Application Method is done in Sections of 3 foot by 6 feet at a time.
The Microfiber Pad Application Method coverage can range from 750 to 1,250 square feet per quart per application or 3,000 to 4,000 sq. feet per gallon per application.
Allow the first application to dry for at least 20 minutes or until dry to the touch before applying the second.
The use of clean booties is highly recommended.
Keep traffic off the floor for at least 30 minutes after the second application.

Do not over apply the product! Do not overwork the product!

Wood & Cork Seal is applied thinner than conventional floor finish. Product dries rapidly. The microfiber pad should glide easily across the floor. The microfiber pad should not drag! A microfiber pad that drags may introduce streaking or a less desired appearance.

Wood & Cork Seal is available in Satin and Low Satin sheens. The Satin Sheen can be burnished to achieve a higher gloss.
