Typical 1,000 to 1,500 sq ft per quart per application
Surface Preparation
Remove any floor finish, soil, etc., and tack the floor with a NeverStrip supplied tack cloth to remove hair, lint, etc. from the floor.
Surface should be dry and clean prior to proceeding. The use of NeverStrip Color Sealer in the grout lines is recommended prior to a Tile Seal application. Tile Seal will typically not by itself seal grout.
Application
- Tile surface must be dry before application
- Shake before applying
- Apply Tile Seal at 1,000 to 1,500 sq. ft. per quart per application.Coverage will vary depending on the porosity of the floor and the person doing the application.
DO NOT APPLY TOO THICK AND DO NOT OVERWORK
- Tile Seal is best applied on tile and grout floors by applying product onto the microfiber pad for every 24 sq ft (4 * 6 foot sections) or spraying a light mist onto the floor with a pump-up sprayer and then spreading the product with a microfiber pad.
DO NOT ALLOW TILE SEAL TO COME IN CONTACT WITH GLASS, FABRIC, METAL OR PAINTED SURFACES
- Two or three thin applications of Tile Seal is typical. Allow each coat to dry before applying the next coat. Typically, Tile Seal will dry in 15 minutes or less.
- If desired, buff or burnish Tile Seal after each application. Tile Seal does not need to be buffed or burnished. Without burnishing, a mid luster or satin sheen is typical of Tile Seal
on ceramic or porcelain. Two or three applications of Tile Seal provides a medium or satin sheen without any burnishing.
- Tile Seal applied too thick may become white and not properly cure. Tile Seal, as with all of NeverStrip Micron “Coatings, must be applied thin and within recommended coverage ranges with each application.
- Tile Seal dries quickly. Do not over work the product. Do not over apply the product. Do not pour the product onto the floor and then spread. Do not apply the product with anything other than a looped, flat microfiber pad. Do not apply in sections larger than 24 sq ft at a time. Tile Seal for Dry Climates may be a desired choice for dry climates with low humidity.
Caution
Do not apply product heavier than a very thin film as recommended.
Do not overwork the product.
Use on interior surfaces only
Do not allow Tile Seal to come in contact with glass, fabric, metal or painted surfaces.
Do not clean or apply water to Tile Seal for at least 8 hours after application.
At low humidity environments streaking may occur.
Consider using NeverStrip Tile Seal for Dry Climates.
Removal
The coating should not need to be removed in its normal life cycle.
Tile Seal is removed using a butyl-based floor finish stripper with a black stripping pad or with a NeverStrip supplied EPP pad with a weighted oscillating floor machine, such as a Square Scrub. Follow standard procedures.
