Additional Information

Characteristics
  • Allow light foot traffic one (1) hour after completed application of Step 2 Product. Keep water off the surface for at least 8 hours but preferably 24 hours after completion of Step 2 Product.
  • Wet static coefficient of friction of 0.80 has been recorded with the BOT 3000 E Universal Walkway Tester.
  • Wet dynamic coefficient of friction of 0.57 has been recorded with the BOT 3000 E Universal Walkway Tester.
  • The Liquid Grip System is not meant to be submerged under water or continuously wet. The system works well with periodic running water over the surface. The surface does need to dry between wet events.
  • Clean with a soft brush. Do not use a pad. Avoid aggressive cleaning so as not to loosen the Liquid Grip’s fine aggregate.
  • Do not use citrus cleaners or cleaners with D-Limonene. Do use NeverStrip Micron Clean at 1-2 oz./gallon of water.
  • Do use Microbot Grease Eliminator to remove greases, oils, urine, soap scum etc. before application of Liquid Grip and for ongoing cleaning.
  • Liquid Grip is best applied by an experienced, professional floor care maintenance contractor.
  • Liquid Grip has a Satin to Low Satin sheen.
  • Liquid Grip is freeze/thaw stable.
  • Liquid Grip is not typically stripped or removed in its normal lifecycle.
  • Clean and seal with a new application of Step 1 Product and Step 2 Product as needed. No need to condition or abrade the surface prior to application.

Surface Preparation

The first step is to apply the appropriate Micron Sealer to the floor (Tile Seal for Ceramic/Porcelain; Vinyl Seal for Resilient Flooring, etc.).

Application
  1. Flooring surface should be dry, clean and free of soil, grease, oils and other contaminants.
  2. The first step is to apply one application of Micron Sealer to the floor (Tile Seal for Ceramic/Porcelain; Vinyl Seal for Resilient Flooring, etc.).
Shake Step 1 Product well. Pour entire contents of Step 1 Product quart container into a 7-gallon application tub with high 8” sides. This tub can be purchased at Home Depot in the cement mixing product area. Using a NeverStrip supplied, microfiber roller cover, agitate the Liquid Grip Step 1 Product with each dip of the roller cover into the black application tub.
Do not pour more than one quart of Step 1 Product into the tub at a time. The NeverStrip Grip Aggregate is heavy. It quickly sinks to the bottom of the tub. Agitation with each dip is critical for achieving an even distribution of the aggregate across the floor.
After each dip of the roller cover, apply the product onto approximately a 4’ x 8’ area. This application method should produce a coverage of approximately 350-400 sq. feet per kit. Pour any unused Step 1 Product back into its original container using a funnel and close the container securely.
  3. The Liquid Grip Step 1 Product will often separate (like oil and water) during its application. This appearance is eliminated by an optional dry rolling of the still wet but drying Liquid Grip Step 1 Product with a new, dry, 3 ⁄ 8″ nap microfiber roller cover about 5-10 minutes after applying the Step 1 Product. The roller cover used with this dry rolling process is provided as part of the Liquid Grip Kit.
It is helpful for whomever is performing the dry rolling process to wear golf shoes with plastic golf spikes or equivalent, so this person can, as needed, walk into/onto the wet Liquid Grip.
The dry rolling process can be done by the same person who applies the Liquid Grip Step 1 Product or can be performed by a second individual. Allow Step 1 Product to dry at least 30 minutes before applying Step 2 Product.
  4. Step 2 Product can be poured into the black applicator tub as needed. No need to pour the entire quart content at once since the Step 2 Product does not have any Grip Aggregate. After Step 1 Product has dried to the touch (or at least 20-30 minutes), apply Step 2 Product using the same Dip and Roll method as Step 1 Product with the same expected 400-500 sq. feet of coverage per quart. Use the second supplied 9” microfiber roller cover to apply Step 2 Product.
  5. Wait one hour before allowing any foot or cart traffic on the floor.
  6. Keep water off the floor for at least 8 hours.
