Application areas and surface suitability

Fire Fix is a fire restoration cleaner for soft and delicate surfaces.

Safe and ideal for use on practically all water cleanable surfaces, including painted walls, ceilings, carpets, soft furnishings, lacquered wood, metals, tiles, lino, natural stone and concrete. Precaution and pretesting should be taken on paints as heat and certain soil types may destabilize the coating integrity. Pretesting should also be done on soft (non-ferrous) metals to check for chemical sensitivity. Nylon fibres treated with stain resistant protection may need to have carpet protector with stain block re-applied.

How to use

Always pretest in an inconspicuous location for fibre and dye sensitivity. Do not use on stain resistant carpets except in restoration situations.

Dilutions

Carpet Cleaning (Fire Restoration)

• Pump-up Sprayer
  Add 15-30ml per litre of water (1:32 – 1:64) depending on soil conditions.
• Hydroforce High Pressure Model
  1:9 tip (Yellow): Add 750ml – 1.4Lt into 5Lt Hydroforce container and fill with water.
  1:32 tip (Brown): Dilute 1:1 with water or add directly into 5Lt Hydroforce container.

Painted Walls & Delicate Surfaces

• Add 50-100ml per litre of water (1:10 to 1:20) depending on soil conditions.
• For heavy soil conditions, up to 200ml per litre can be added. If used on sensitive surfaces, always pre-test for substrate chemical sensitivity

Garments and loose furnishings:

• Mix up a soak solution of 500ml – 1Lt Fire Fix per 10Lt of warm water. Add 50g Oxyboost. Mix well.

Addition of Oxyboost:
(Ceiling cleaning, odour control & stain removal)
Oxyboost is a concentrated oxygen oxidising powder which when added to the diluted Fire Fix solution, provides oxidation of mal-odour molecules and removal of stubborn stains. In ceiling cleaning applications, it helps to reverse greying and will whiten ceiling tiles.

• Mix up Fire Fix solution using warm water (40 – 600C)
• Add 10 – 20 grams Oxyboost per litre of ready-to-use Fire Fix solution. Stir well to dissolve Oxyboost.
• Use solution within 30 minutes.

Application

Carpet Cleaning Application:

1. Always prepare the carpet to be cleaned with thorough vacuuming.
2. Prespray the Fire Fix solution onto the carpet. Do not allow to dry.
3. Agitate & allow 5-10 minutes dwell time.
4. Extract rinse using Rinse Pro.
5. Assist drying with air movers or similar if atmospheric conditions are humid.

Painted Walls & Delicate Surfaces

1. Cover areas not being cleaned. Only apply solution to an area which can be cleaned and rinsed within 30-40 minutes. Follow typical fire restoration cleaning techniques.
2. Apply the solution to a workable area using a sprayer, sponge or scrubber machine. Do not allow solution to dry onto the surface.
3. Agitate and allow 10 to 15 minutes dwell time.
4. Re-agitate areas of heavy soiling
5. Rinse the surface thoroughly using clean water. Carpets and soft furnishings are best rinsed using carpet wet extraction equipment using a 1:100 Rinse Pro solution.

Garments and loose furnishings:

1. Ensure items are water washable. Pre-check for special washing directions provided by the manufacturer
2. Mix up a soak solution of 500ml – 1Lt Fire Fix per 10Lt of warm water. Add 50g Oxyboost. Mix well.
3. Soak affected garments and loose furnishings for 1 to 4 hours.
4. Rinse well in clean warm water.
5. Garments suited to machine washing should then be laundered as normal. Loose furnishings should be rinsed in a warm 1:200 solution of Rinse Pro.
