Industrial oils behave differently from organic soils. They are hydrophobic, they bind aggressively to nylon, and they require a strong, surfactant-rich alkaline prespray followed by a high-efficiency extraction rinse that can break, release, and fully flush the oil load.
Industrial oils are non-polar (non-dissolvable by water) contaminants that adhere firmly to nylon fibres, creating dark, sticky lanes and patches. They resist ordinary detergents and penetrate deep into the pile, attracting further particulate soil. A high-performance alkaline prespray is required to break oil cohesion and release it from the fibre surface. Extraction with a low-residue rinse agent is essential to prevent rapid resoiling.
Important Note
Cleaning 5th & 6th Generation Nylon, Polyester, Acrylic Carpets
When cleaning modern stain-resistant nylon, do not exceed pH 10 at the fibre. Excessive alkalinity can damage stain-blockers. Performance Gold sits within the required safety margin when used at specified dilutions.
Prespray
Dilute 1:32 (30mL/1Lt)
High-performance prespray for heavy grease and industrial oil loads. It applies a blend of high-performance surfactants, solvents, and soil-release polymers that disrupt oil films, penetrate the nylon surface, and suspend dislodged soil for extraction. It is fibre-safe for stain-resistant nylon at correct dilutions.
Performance Gold attacks oils and industrial grime by penetrating and breaking their bond to the nylon fibre. Its powerful combination of technologies lifts and suspends these soils so that the extraction rinse can fully remove them.
Extract/Rinse Agent
Preferred for Truck Mount Machines
Dilute 1:1000 (5ml/5Lt)
Powder emulsifier for truck mounts. Its alkaline detergency and chelating system break oily bonds, soften industrial residues, and produce a free-rinsing solution that flushes suspended soils without leaving sticky material on the fibre.
Both Extracta Pro and Emulsifier Plus remove the suspended industrial oils released by Performance Gold. They break residual oily films, maintain balanced pH at the fibre, and ensure a complete flush. Their low-residue profiles prevent sticky post-cleaning deposits.
Extract/Rinse Agent
Preferred for Portable Carpet Cleaning Machines
Dilute 1:600 (8ml/5Lt)
Liquid emulsifier for portable extractors. It reduces water tension, neutralises hard-water ions, and provides high-heat stability for consistent cleaning. Its rinse profile leaves the carpet clean, soft, and free from rapid resoil risk.

The Process

Pre-Vacuum
Vacuum thoroughly to remove dry particulate soil. This improves chemistry efficiency and reduces sludge formation during extraction.

Prespray
Apply Performance Gold at 1:32 using a pump-up or hydroforce sprayer. Ensure even coverage across traffic lanes and oil-affected areas. Agitate and allow 5–10 minutes dwell time. This ensures the prespray fully breaks the film of industrial oils and suspends the released soils.

Rinse / Extract
Using hot water extraction, rinse with either Extracta Pro (truck mount powder) or Emulsifier Plus (portable liquid). Use slow, overlapping strokes through heavy areas. The rinse step flushes suspended oils and restores fibre brightness and texture.

Dry / Rake
Assist drying with air movers or ventilation. Rake the carpet to lift pile, encourage even drying, and present a uniform finish.

Pretreating Heavy Oil Points
After prespray dwell, target deep oil concentrations with a second light mist of Performance Gold or treat with Colloidal Boost in the prespray for additional film disruption. Colloidal Boost provides superior wetting and dispersion without raising alkalinity to unsafe levels.

Speed Drying
Drying quickly prevents wick-back of deep oil residues. Use airflow, dehumidifiers, or HVAC to accelerate evaporation.

Spotting
If individual oil spots remain, spot with the appropriate solvent spotter or detergent-based oil remover after extraction. Refer to the Actichem Spotting Guide for selection.
